Smooth Sailing For All Candidates!

After reviewing the test results,  Rich introduced Fred who covered a battery of details in preparation for the upcoming Field Day Ofensive.

After Fred, Don demonstrated how to measure rainfall with the official CoCorah rain gauge.

Finally, we had no less than two birthdays this month. Please note, that only Glen was willing to share his age. On the rare occasions when Al shares his age, it is rumored that he prefers the Juperian calendar.

Field Day Marshal Fred addresses the troops before Operation Field Day 2014.

Singing in the rain Don (“Kelly”) demonstrates how to read a rain gauge. Hat is optional. ๐Ÿ™‚

Now that’s what I call a cake! We may be amatures when it comes to radio, but when it comes to eating, we are professionals all.

Al has been know to tell Marge and others that after someone put a hex on him he believes he is only 4B years old. Sounds evasive to me. ๐Ÿ™‚

March For Babies 2014

Tuesday Breakfast Club

The Tuesday Breakfast Club is not an official club function, but most of its members are also LARC  members. We meet every Tuesday, 9:00 AM at the Brunch Box, 725 East Memorial. (Most come a few minutes early.) The food is good, and the conversation is about as diverse as you can imagine. While the men talk men talk, the women talk …? Well, I can’t really say, but I would have to assume it is very supportive of their spouses hobby. ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh, and just in case you are wondering. Yes, we would love to see you there.

Winner of the “New Ham” Drawing

Chet wanted to have some lucky person win this copy of the Amateur Radio Handbook, but he wanted it to go to someone new to the hobby. So we held a drawing for only hams who have recently been licensed. The lucky winner was Jim, seen here with Chet. Congratulations Jim, and thank you Chet for donating this handbook.
